John Brodey - Reverse Mortgage Professional

The newest member of the Sequoia Pacific team, John was formerly with a national firm located in the Los Angeles area for whom he established the first branch devoted entirely to reverse mortgages. John’s desire to work in a more intimate community setting and for a company with a personal service philosophy similar to his own, led him to Santa Rosa and Sequoia Pacific Mortgage Company. The company’s long standing commitment to the Reverse Mortgage product coincided with John’s own professional goals. In 2005, a career change was inspired by his desire to ‘give back’ in some way to his community and he contemplated teaching or working the non-profit arena. As a ‘senior’ himself, his search ultimately resulted in an extensive study of retirement strategies and a year long examination of Reverse Mortgages. John’s approach emphasizes the educational aspect of the process, as he firmly believes that the best decisions are informed decisions. Patience and a respect for each client’s needs and circumstances are of paramount importance as is involvement by family or trusted advisors. Prior to his work in the financial sector, John was a marketing executive with several major record labels during a career spanning 25 years. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry. With the same passion and drive, John is now focused on advocacy of senior interests. Raised on the East Coast, John remains a loyal Red Sox fan and now lives in Santa Rosa with his wife, Cristie Marcus, who is a local realtor. He maintains business ties with southern California. John is a proud father to three remarkable children (including a daughter at Sonoma State University), who all seem to require less and less of his invaluable fatherly advice as time goes by.
